We woke up to our fancy hotel and a nod to our English memories with a cup of Caffe Nero. Then the fates smile upon us and Boston held a Pride parade right in the middle of our vacation! I was pretty excited. Nic humored me.
We ran down to Boston Commons, following the colorful crowds and joined right in the fun. I took a lot of pictures. I am just sharing a few here of the highlights.
It was a really long parade so in the middle we took a break to look at Boston Commons. Nic is really interested in the flora of the East Coast as he is currently designing our English Garden. He has been very inspired by Maine in particular, but we had to check out the ideas from Boston too.
It was a very fun morning. As the parade wrapped up, Nic and I had to forage for some more English/Irish food. We happened upon a nice Irish pub, along with the entire Pride parade and community. Somehow we lucked out with a seat at the bar AND a football (read soccer) game! The gods of fate had truly smiled upon us. The heaven opened and poured heartily as we watched football and Nic ate a meat pie.
Promises were made about the photos I would post regarding our Pride adventure. I am doing my best to abide by those. But I have to leave this one here. For posterity's sake.
We jumped back on the train and were back at Dan and Mae's in time for some delicious popcorn and excellent company.
