On our way back from Millinocket we stopped off in Augusta. We thought we would eat something yummy and see the sights. It turned out to be a great decision because the sturgeon were jumping in the Kennebec river - which was like a bucket list thing for Nic.
Of course we had to stop by Freeport, Maine on the way home to check out the L.L. Bean store. I may have gone in wearing my Patagonia Sweater and Eddie Bauer pants and left without buying anything. Which I think is sacrilege in Maine. Freeport is very committed to L.L. Bean and vice versa, I guess. It was funny and I loved the huge shoes.
We also saw the capitol and some legislators coming and going and doing their things. and some cool trees.

And then as quickly as we had left, we were back with Dan and Mae and their cute little puppies for the night.
