We set out for Acadia in the midmorning determined to make the most of the sunshine as it held and try to squeeze in a good hike for Nic and myself. Nic, as a park employee, was very nervous about crowds. As a result we headed for the quiet side of the park.
It was truly beautiful.
We hiked a bit, and drove a bit, and wandered around the seaside village and had clam chowder (Nic). We also were able to see a native Salted Brook Trout - which is a bucket list thing for Nic.
We also dug for eels in mud. We found crabs and worms and very dirty feet. And then I was bitten by 18 ants and called it a day. It was a beautiful day in Acadia, which is good because the rain finally found us later that evening and settled in.
